I have been dancing for around 9 years. I fell in love with bellydancing after my first lesson and has been dancing since. I attend regular workshops and training with a wide range of teachers (both national and international) to improve my knowledge about the dance and its culture.
I believe that bellydancing is a fantastic way for women of all ages, sizes and background, to fully embrace their femininity and to be proud of who they are. I try to be a warm and generous teacher, encouraging my dancers to find their own unique style of dance, whilst ensuring that they are taught in a safe and postive manner.
I particularly loves the folkloric styles of Egyptian dance and enjoys teaches the different styles, whilst also teaching the principles of modern egyptian dance. My musicality skills are strong and I believe that in order to dance to your true potential, you need to be able to 'listen' well to the music. My classes are a mixture of theory and practice, with an abundance of fun. I will teach you the cultural contexts (such as history and costuming) in order for you to fully appreciate and understand what what are dancing to.
I am fully insured through NADA and hold a relevant First Aid Qualification. Details of my weekly classes can be found on the class details page. Everyone is welcome to attend classes but for insurance purposes, I will only teach ladies and those over the age of 16.
I am proud to be a trustee for Just Because - is a registered charity aiming to raise funds to promote awareness, early detection, treatment and after-care of breast cancer for women in Egypt.
